St Bede’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Update
In Week 2 this term, we launched the beginning of a renewal at St Bede’s. We celebrated the launch of our RAP with a community gathering and smoking ceremony.
The actions fall under three broad headings: Relationships, Respect and Opportunities. Our key priority for 2024 is to build knowledge and understanding of what reconciliation means for all of us AS a St Bede’s community. We aim to do this by:
- Engaging with and establishing partnerships with Ngunnawal Elders.
- Create opportunities for students, their families and teachers to learn about being culturally responsive.
- Enliven our RAP actions so that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and perspectives are respected and visible within our school community.
- Create opportunities for students to connect to their culture in authentic and meaningful ways.
This is a very exciting time for St Bede’s. Thank you for your support with our commitment to being a more inclusive school community.
