Principal's Message: Values
VALUES
“Let all that you do be done in love” 1 Corinthians 16:14
St Bede’s is laden in values. Recently, I received a number of emails from parents sharing their appreciation of St Bede’s and the values that we promote. I am so proud to be a part of a community where values are so evident and form a part of who we are. They are evident in our connection with each other.
We have a graphic in our foyer and many others within our school and classrooms that promote values (see gallery below). We walk past these each day and we are reminded of the values that define our community at St Bede’s. Guided by our motto, "Walk in Love & Peace," we are dedicated to nurturing an environment where every student can thrive spiritually, emotionally, and academically.
At St Bede’s, we believe that love and respect are the cornerstone of our community. We encourage our students to show kindness to one another and to approach each day with a heart full of compassion. As Saint Paul reminds us in his letter to the Corinthians, “Let all that you do be done in love”. By embodying this spirit, we create a supportive and caring environment where everyone feels valued, respected, safe and loved.
We are committed to helping our students be resilient, to discover and develop their unique talents and abilities. Our goal is to support them in becoming the best version of themselves, striving for excellence in all they do. Encouraging personal growth and self-improvement, we remind our students that their best efforts are always worth celebrating. We love celebrating growth and recognising achievements at St Bede’s. This further adds to a strong sense of community and who we are as a school.
We believe that with faith and determination, our students can achieve great things. We encourage them to dream big and to set ambitious goals, knowing that their potential is limitless. By nurturing their dreams, we help them to build a future filled with hope and possibility. Of course, we do this in partnership with each family. At times, we break even the smallest goal into smaller elements to enable all to achieve success.
Being a Catholic school, prayer is another essential part of our daily lives and a source of strength and guidance. It connects us to God and helps us find peace and clarity. We invite our students and families to join in prayer, both as individuals and a community, by attending school masses and liturgies. This week we came together as a community for the mass of the Assumption and Year 3/4 were engaged in their Spirituality Day. Through prayer, we align our hearts with God’s.
Together, let us continue to walk in love and peace, embracing these values as we grow and learn.
Regards
Andrew
