Eamon Kennedy Award

The Eamon Kennedy Award is an honorary trophy, donated by the Kennedy family following their son’s attendance at St Bede’s from 2000 until 2005.  Eamon was a child who overcame big challenges, with the help of the staff and students of St Bede’s school.  The award is given to a child who has overcome challenges in social, academic or personal development.

This year the award goes to a student who is a quiet achiever who goes with the flow.  They have faced adversity with maturity and grace, remaining positive and determined.  Despite these difficulties, he remains steadfast in his generosity and compassion, always being the first to offer a helping hand or a kind word to those around him.

This student is not only a supportive peer but also a caring mentor to younger students. His deep connection to his faith is evident, and he confidently shares and inspires others, leading by example.  He is a natural leader among his peers, admired for his confidence, kindness, and ability to uplift those around him.

The 2024 Eamon Kennedy Award goes to James Casey.

Carol Thompson Award

This award is presented to the student who demonstrates outstanding academic achievement across all curriculum areas.  This year’s recipient is a conscientious student who demonstrates excellent critical thinking, high literacy and numeracy skills and a genuine motivation to learn, resulting in success across multiple curriculum areas.  This includes outstanding results in NAPLAN, Progressive Achievement Tests, DIBELS Reading and Spelling.  This student is a modest quiet achiever who conscientiously applies himself to the task, demonstrating initiative and application.

The 2024 Carol Thompson Award goes to Lorenzo Savignano.

Walk In Love & Peace

Every year, one student from each class is nominated by staff for the annual Walk In Love & Peace Award.  These students are selected for actively living out our school vision to strive for excellence in everything that they do and setting a positive example to others.  We believe that everyone is unique and created in the image of God.  These students walk in love and peace by displaying Respect, Responsibility and Resilience.  Students can only receive this special award once during their time at St Bede’s.

The 2024 Kinder Fox recipient is Cecily Stephens

The Kinder Mead recipient is Iggy Kirby

The Year 1 Blue recipient is Emilie Dawson

The Year 1 Gold recipient is Amelie Strong

The Year 2 Blue recipient is Archie Stewart

The Year 2 Gold recipient is Christian Katlewski

The Year 3 Blue recipient is Wyatt Hirt

The Year 3 Gold recipient is Kayla Johnston

The Year 4 recipient is Monique Wong

The Year 5 recipient is Robert Fredericks

The Overall Year 6 Walk in Love & Peace Award is unique as it can be presented to a student who may have already received a class nomination in previous years.  This year’s recipient is a kind and generous person who engages with students across all year levels. This student consistently displays a positive attitude, empathy for others and is a role model to younger peers.  His gentle nature makes him approachable and highly valued in our small community.  Some might even call him the gentle giant.

This year we commend Vincenzo Spadafora
