It’s been a busy and exciting few weeks at St Bede’s, with our students achieving great success across a range of sports, from cross country and netball to national-level rock climbing!

Netball Gala Days

Our Netball Gala Days were held on the 29th of May for Years 3 and 4, and on the 5th of June for Years 5 and 6. Congratulations to all students who participated—you represented St Bede’s with enthusiasm, skill, and wonderful sportsmanship.

A special thank you to the amazing parents who volunteered their time to help coach our teams. Your support is greatly appreciated.

A standout mention goes to the Year 6 Hawks, who progressed to the finals day. With a mix of strong wins, close losses, and a draw, the team showed great determination and teamwork. A big thank you to Bianca G, our dedicated coach for both days. Your calm leadership and encouragement made a huge difference!

ACT Cross Country Championships

On Friday 12th June, four of our students braved a chilly morning to represent St Bede’s at the ACT Cross Country Championships. Each of them gave a fantastic performance—well done!

• Olivia F (8 yrs) – Congratulations on a great run!
• Georgia G (10 yrs) – 1st place – Outstanding achievement!
• Kathryn T (11 yrs) – Well done!
• Ashton KM (12 yrs) – Great effort!

National Rock Climbing Championships

In late May, Carly and Megan K competed at the National Bouldering Championships in Queensland, representing the ACT Bouldering Team.

Bouldering is a form of indoor rock climbing performed without ropes at lower heights—and it's now an Olympic sport! Due to their age categories, both girls competed in the same division, with Carly being one of the youngest competitors.

We’re proud to share that both girls now hold national rankings:

• Megan – Ranked 29th in Australia
• Carly – Ranked 39th in Australia

NSW/ACT Regional Snowsports Championships

The NSW/ACT Regional Snowsports Championships are just around the corner! If your child would like to participate, please email your registration number and selected events as soon as possible so we can finalise our team.

Boorowa Netball and Touch Football Gala Day

Mark your calendars! The Boorowa Netball and Touch Football Gala Day will be held on Friday 24th October 2025.

In early Term 3, we’ll be sending out registration information and asking for volunteers to help with coaching. This is always a highlight of the school year, and we look forward to another fun and successful day for all involved!
