This weekend is a very special day for the Catholic Church and for today's youth. Carlo Acutis, often called the first millennial saint, will be canonised on 7 September 2025. Carlo’s life, lived in our own digital age, is a powerful reminder that holiness is not distant or old fashioned, but accessible and authentic.

Carlo was a 15 year old who died of leukaemia in 2006, Carlo was renowned for his boundless love for the Eucharist, his simple prayers, and everyday kindness, especially towards the poor and marginalised. He used his talents with technology to build a website cataloguing Eucharistic miracles worldwide, earning him the nickname “God’s influencer” and even “patron saint of the Internet.”

For our students, Carlo is a timely companion, he embraced video games, soccer, and modern media, not for distraction, but as opportunities to deepen faith and serve others. His example shows that digital fluency and holiness can go hand in hand. He encourages young people to design a faith filled life grounded in daily prayer, compassion, and authenticity.

Let his life remind us that serving God joyfully in the modern world is possible, and that even our smallest actions can echo into eternity.
