Welcome back to Term 4! What wonderful weather we have been blessed with as we begin our Term 4 adventures. It was such a joy seeing all the happy smiles as everyone returned from the recent holiday break. 

Did you know that October is the Church’s official Marian month. Pope Leo XIII consecrated the entire month to Our Lady of the Rosary, urging every parish to pray five decades of the Rosary together with the Litany of Loreto from 1 October to 2 November. The Catholic Encyclopedia notes that this dedication gave rise to indulgences for both public and private recitation of the Rosary throughout October.

Here are some great ways that your family can pray together during the month of October:

• If you have Rosary Beads, find them and talk with your children about them. They are a special prayer tool. 
• Follow the ‘Month of the Rosary’ grid that takes you through each of the mysteries, prayers, bible stories and activities that you can do as a family 
• Learn the prayers that you say during the Rosary.
