Religious Education News
Welcome to a wet and wild week 3; we certainly have had a very busy start to the term! Classes are well into their Term 2 religious education units. In Kindergarten, they will be exploring Old Testament stories and personal prayer. In Year 1, they will unpack the stories of Jesus and how to use the Bible. In Year 2, students will be navigating relationships, including aspects of forgiveness and understanding. In Years 3 and 4, students will draw connections between people and places, with an emphasis on creation stories from various cultures. In Years 5 and 6, we are diving into the early church in Australia and the key figures involved in its establishment. As a staff, we also continue to look for opportunities to develop our own spirituality. This week we were joined by Helen Bramanathan to lead us in Christian Meditation. Helen will be visiting classes over the next two weeks to assist in establishing Christian Meditative practices across the school.
As we move towards the end of May, we have two mass celebrations upcoming in Week 5, our St Bede’s Feast Day and our first Parish Families Mass of Term 2. We warmly welcome all families to attend and participate in our Parish Mass on Sunday 29th May, 9:30am at St Peter Chanel’s in Yarralumla. If you would like to be involved in the celebration of the mass as a reader, altar server or part of the choir, please contact ben.macintyre@cg.catholic.edu.au.
Best wishes for the weeks ahead. Stay warm and dry!
