Gardening Club is at lunchtime on a Thursday and is a great way for students to connect with the environment. Recently we have planted celery, carrots, broccoli, beetroot,strawberries and rosemary. 

We were very excited to use some of our very own compost when planting our new seedlings. Kinder, Year 1 and Year 2 have compost bins in their rooms that get emptied during gardening club each week. Some of our helpful Kinders collected it out of the tumble bin for us to use.

Congratulations to all of the St Bede's students who participated in the SWPSSA Cross Country on Wednesday 8 June. Our students represented the school well and should be proud of their efforts. Cross country is an event that requires a great deal of determination and perserverance.

A special congratulations to Freya who came 4th in her age group and is off to represent at the next level. Well done on your achievment!

Thank you to parents who transported and encouraged their children on a bitterly cold day. A special thank you to Mr Heffernan for organising our team and assisting on the day. 

St Bede's was abuzz with excitement this week as 4 quails hatched in Year 1 on Monday. Our Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 students gathered to oberve the eggs hatching and the quails emerge. This was a terrific experience for our junior students. Our students named the quails; Popcorn, Nibbles, Watermelon and Nugget.

We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of chickens in Year Kindergarten and ducks in Year 2.

Thank you so much to all the families who made suggestions to rename our school newsletter. There were many wonderful names submitted. We are carefully considering all of thes entries and will make an announcment in the next couple of weeks.
