Please be advised that teachers have now been allocated classes for 2023. We are excited to welcome a number of new teachers to St Bede's as our school expands.
Our focus for 2023 is to maintain small class sizes while maintaining some growth. The mixed age class structure allows our school to priotitise learning for all students.

Light Shines in the Night – Student Faith Formation Day
When: Tuesday 1 November
Dress: Casual, comfortable, sensible clothes
Recess: Students bring their recess
Lunch: Dominos pizza will be provided, and some GF options will be provided (if your child does not eat pizza, please just send a packed lunch with them on the day)
About the day: Our whole school will be involved in a student faith formation day. The focus of this day is inspired by our theme Light Shines in the Night, based on The Christmas Story. Children will be in mixed-class groups for the day. The Nativity is the central focus of the day with opportunities for students to experience God through scripture, song, poetry, and other creative outlets. The hall will be set up as a sacred space, and each group will have an opportunity to visit this space for a liturgy or mass with Fr Trenton during the day.
The teachers and staff look forward to this day and have spent time together planning for their students’ experience. We will combine our talents on the day to make it an enjoyable experience for all students. It is our aim that the day provides students with an opportunity for students to encounter Jesus through story, symbol and song.
Throughout the holiday period our school received a facelift. The new facade has been installed to reflect our school colours. We also received a new canopy at the entry of the office and fence/gates surrounding the main car park.
I thank Catholic Education for their support in completing this work to improve the asthetics of our school.
Please note: we are waiting for an apostrophe to be added to the signage!
Change of Bell/Session times 2023
We wish to advise that there will be a change of session and bell times in 2023. This will not impact the start and finish times of St Bede's.
With a focus on learning, this adjustment will add 10minutes of teaching and learning time to each school day. This equates to approximately 7 additional teaching days over the course of the school year. In short, one small adjustment can accumulate to make a significant impact. For example, an additional 10 minutes per day for the course of a child's primary education will accumulate to be 49 days (1 whole term).
Further, this adjustment allows the school to have the required break time for staff and supports a structure that will enable teachers to plan and program together, in turn benifiting the students in terms of lesson design and assessment tasks.
Should you like any additional information or clarity about this adjustment, please email andrew.casey@cg.catholic.edu.au or call the office.

Healthy Harold/Life Education Visit
This week, students from Kinder to Year 6 participated in Life Education lessons with Healthy Harold in his mobile classroom. Students engaged in a range of age-appropriate topics, focusing on healthy lifestyles, including: Cyberwise, Mind your medicine, Growing good friends, Relate Respect Connect, My body matters, On the case and Ready! Steady! Go! Our facilitator, Kial, was very inclusive and relatable and had all students involved. These lessons will now continue in classrooms as part of Health lessons, utilising a range of resources from Life Education. We hope to invite Healthy Harold back again in 2024 as part of our biannual learning cycle.
