The weekend saw the continuation of the P & F court resurfacing project. Patches Asphalt came to St Bede's and transformed the old asphalt into fresh new courts without stones and cracks. The courts will now cure for 28 days (the remainder of Term 4) before Kangaroo Courts come and apply another specalised coating, lines and sporting posts etc.

A big thank you to the P & F for supporting this project and to Patches for their flexibility and professionalism. We cannot wait to give our students the best sporting facilities for their enjoyment at break times and during PE Lessons.

From 2023 St Bede's Primary School will provide all stationery for students, Kindergarten to Year 6. This includes exercise books, pens, pencils, scissors, erasers, glue, rulers, etc. As such there will not be any stationery lists shared with families for 2023.

We understand that families may still like to provide their own stationary/pencil case, etc. Parents are still able to provide stationary supplies should they choose.

Please be advised, our Director, Mr Ross Fox has approved a pupil free day for ACT catholic schools. This day will be Friday 16 December 2022. The last student day will be Thursday 15 December.

Parent Teacher Meetings will be on Monday 5 December and Tuesday 6 December. These meetings are optional in Term 4 and can be made via the Compass Parent Portal. The sessions are now open. To book a session, please click on more and navigate to Conferences.  If you are unable to schedule a time, please contact your classroom teacher via email.

If you met in Week 5 or Week 6 with the class teacher and Mrs Elliott, there is no need to book another meeting session.

We congratulate and welcome Mrs Jodie Heggaton who will join St Bede's in 2023. Jodie will be the Year 2 teacher and work with Mrs Charles the 1/2 teacher.

Jodie has been with Catholic Education Canberra & Goulburn for many years. She is a very organised teacher who builds rapport with children quickly. Jodie has completed the Initialit training, the phonics program that has been implemented at St Bede's.

Mrs Heggaton will be present at our Step Up afternoon on 12 December where she will meet her Year 2 class.

Teachers have commenced preparing student reports for Semester 2. The reports will be distributed via the Compass Parent Portal on Friday 9 December (Week 9).  Please note that students who have commenced in Term 4 will not receive a student report. As assessment would be incomplete and not be representative of growth and learning, a letter containing a general comment will be constructed and sent home.

The reports will contain the same elements as Semester 1:

• An effort grade for each Key Learning Area
• Engagement with Learning 
• Learning Strengths- Comment statements
• Learning Goals- Comment statements
