To celebrate the 60^th Anniversary of our school, the P&F are excited to announce that we will be hosting the St Bede’s Blue & Gold Gala on 8 September 2023. The night is historically a fun and casual night giving us an opportunity to celebrate our amazing community.

The St Bede’s Gala Committee

St Bede's would like to congratulate Miss Mead on her selection to attend World Youth Day 2023 in Portugal. Jess will join other young people from the Archdiocese of Canberra & Goulburn and the Australian contingent of pilgrims to attend Lisbon, Portugal. Jess will be away from St Bede's for approximately 3 weeks taking part in a variety of experiences.

World Youth Day (WYD) is a worldwide encounter with the Pope celebrated every three years in a different country. WYD is open to all young people who want to participate in a festive encounter centred on Jesus Christ with their peers. This event is an opportunity to experience the universality of the Catholic Church and to share with the whole world the hope of many young people who are committing their lives to Christ and His Church. World Youth Day is a unique way to deepen your faith and grow closer to Christ, through prayer and the sacraments, together with hundreds of thousands of other young people who share your interests and ambitions.

The Boorowa Touch Football/Netball Carnival for 2023 is on Friday, October 20th (Term 4 Week 2). St Bede's has been an enthusiastic participant in the past, fielding multiple teams and travelling by bus to Boorowa. This year, we invite teams from Grade 2 to 6 to be a part of this event. To kickstart the organisation process, we will be sending out an expression of interest form on Monday via Compass. Get ready for an unforgettable day of fun and excitement!

During the holiday period, St Bede's continued to be a hive of activity. We had a wide range of work being undertaken. Improvements include:

1. Arrival of new small group work spaces
2. Continuation of K-2 Courtyard (including replanting fruit trees)
3. New carpet and poinboard in the library (new furniture has been ordered)
4. New Wireless Access Points (WAP) and served switched 
5. Installation of 2 new photcopiers
6. New garden near the Hall

We welcomed 4 new students to St Bede's this week. As previously communicated, there is a more strategic approach to the enrolment of new families at St Bede's. The focus is about topping up the various classes where there are places for new students.

Our key focus at the moment is the current Year 1 cohort. With only 32 student in the cohort, it is becoming increasingly difficult to plan for 2 classes in 2024. We ask that all St Bede's families to extend an invitation to friends with school age children to visit and tour St Bede's (especially those in Year 1). We still have room for growth in most grades.

On Thursday 20 July our Year 5 and Year 6 students attended the St Clare's College production of High School Musical. We thank and congratulate the students and staff of St Clare's for a successful performance. Our students had a terrific time attending this production.
