It has been a wonderful week at St Bede's. We celebrated Book Week with a parade, a book fair and a performance by The Meerkats. A huge thanks to Jess Higgins, our librarian, for the mountain of work she has put in to make Book Week such a success!
Today we celebrated Father's Day with a breakfast followed by Mass. A huge thanks to the staff who assisted with the cooking and preparation. We served up over 300 burgers. A huge effort for a small staff. Thank you to Jodie Heggaton for her organisation of both the staff costumes for Wednesday's parade and today's Mass. Thank you also to Fr Trenton for officiating at the Mass in his usual beautiful, reverent way. Thank you also to Darren Roberts and Will Baldwin for their assistance with the book week parade and for doing such a great job of emceeing the parade.
A big thank you to Sare in the canteen who every week serves up the most delicious and nutritious food to our community. We appreciate you and your team of helpers so much.
One more thank you to Mrs Fox who works so tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure St Bede's runs so well and does it with so much grace and aplomb. We couldn't do this without you Mrs Fox. You're a superstar!

St Bede's are yet to reach enough enrolments for a second Kindergarten class in 2024. Parents are asked to invite friends with school aged children to consider St Bede's and to contact the school to tour.
St Bede's has received most of our staffing allocation for 2024. In coming weeks we will determine the class structure across the school. This information will be communicated via the school newsletter.
Teacher placements are now being considered. This information will not be released until a definite decision has been made in relation to Kindergarten 2024 at the conclusion of this term. An announcement will be made early Term 4 at the latest.
If parents are concerned about student behaviour, they are asked to contact the school and raise this directly with the classroom teacher in the first instance. Please be reassured that any report is and will continue to be thoroughly investigated and any necessary action taken. This may result in restorative conversations, consequences and in significant matters, contacting parents.
We understand that our parents are passionate advocates for their children. Our teachers are committed professionals that advocate for all students. Our teachers come from a place of compassion, support and fairness for all.
WhatsApp and other platforms are not the place to raise concerns. WhatsApp is there for messages, questions and to enhance our community through connection.
Are you leaving St Bede's in 2024?
Are you considering a move in 2024? Parents who are considering a move from St Bede's for 2024 are asked to contact the school. Please be advised that we will need the following information:
- Enrolment end date;
- New school details;
- Discussion if fees are in arrears.
Please feel free to contact andrew.casey@cg.catholic.edu.au if you would like to discuss this directly.
Boorowa Netball and Touch Football Carnival - Friday 20th October
The preparations are nearly complete: all 113 notes have been returned, 11 teams have been formed and registered. The eagerly awaited carnival is just around the corner. A big thank you to everyone for your swift responses and payments. As it stands, we have approximately 10 available seats left on the bus. If you'd like your child to catch the bus—an opportunity for you to enjoy a peaceful car journey—please notify me.
We're in the process of arranging training sessions for each team during Weeks 9 and 10 and Week 1 of Term 4. I will let you know the times next week.
Should you have any inquiries, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Darren Roberts
Just a friendly reminder that if your child is unwell or away and you do not cancel your order before 5pm, your order will not be refunded. Our tuckshop manager Sarah requires time to organise supplies and prepare the food. The food is all made fresh and the 5pm deadline applies to orders and refunds.
Lunch orders are also NOT transferable to another day.
