Principal's Message: Legacy: What is your part?
LEGACY: WHAT IS YOUR PART?
“A good person leaves an inheritance for their children's children.”
Proverbs 13:22
It is with immense joy that we celebrate our 60th anniversary with a gala dinner tonight. 60 years is a significant milestone in the history of St Bede’s. I thank the organising team for making this celebration possible.
As we look back at the rich tapestry of achievements, growth, and transformation that mark our journey, we are reminded of the legacy we have created together. A legacy that has been 6 decades in the making.
For 60 years, St Bede’s has been a place of learning, inspiration, and community. Our legacy of academic excellence, cultural diversity, and nurturing environment has not only shaped the lives of countless students but has also left an indelible mark on our community and beyond.
Legacy isn't merely a word; it's the story of what we've built, the lives we've touched, and the values we've instilled. Our legacy is defined by the generations of students who have come to St Bede’s, the teachers who have imparted knowledge and wisdom, and the parents who have supported their children's growth.
Legacy building is a process, and it's not confined to the past. Each day, we have the opportunity to shape our legacy, to write our chapter in the book of St Bede’s. What we do today, the values we uphold, and the relationships we cultivate are all part of the legacy we are creating.
The scripture reference above from Proverbs 13:22: encourages us to reflect on our own legacy. St Bede's legacy has been built on wisdom, kindness, and faith to ensure children are supported and grow.
Our parents are essential partners in legacy building. Their involvement, support, and commitment to their children's education shape the legacy of our school. As members of the St Bede’s community, we invite you to reflect on the legacy you are creating. How can you contribute positively to our school? How can you leave a lasting impact on the lives of others? Let us embrace our shared responsibility to continue building a legacy of excellence, character, and community.
Thank you for being a part of the St Bede’s family. Here's to celebrating 60 years of achievements and to creating a legacy that will inspire generations to come.
Regards
Andrew
Tuckshop for French Cultural Day
As mentioned in the French Cultural Day flyer, the tuckshop will run a little differently in Week 10. There will be special menu on Thursday 21 September themed around France and there will not be any other items on offer. If you have a recurring order set up, those items will not be supplied so please cancel it.
Due to it being a day earlier in the week, the amount of preparation and also the ordering of quantities, the cut off to order will be brought forward to 5.00pm on Monday 18 September. Please note we cannot accept any orders after that time. The tuckshop will not be open on Friday 22 September.
Saturday 16 September will mark the 60th anniversary of the St Bede's Tuckshop. We give thanks for Sarah and her team of volunteers. We also thank all of the wonderful people who have supported and volunteered in our tuckshop over 60 years.
On Friday 15 September students will celebrate this anniversary by receiving a free surprise that was on the menu 60 years ago- a free icy pole.
