BEARING FRUIT
A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.
Isaiah 11:1
As we approach the end of another eventful year, I am filled with gratitude for the incredible journey we have shared together. This time of year not only marks the festive season but also provides an opportunity for reflection and anticipation as we enter the Advent season. It also marks a significant milestone in the lives of our Year 6 students and their families. .
The past year, and previous 6 years, has been filled with achievements, challenges, and growth for our students. From academic accomplishments to extracurricular successes, each member of our school family has contributed to making this a memorable and impactful year.
I want to express my sincere appreciation to our dedicated students, passionate staff, and supportive parents for their unwavering commitment to partnering in excellence. This partnership, 7 years for some, has nurtured each student as they have grown into being the people they are today. It has watched them grown from nervous kindergarten students to more confident leaders.
As Year 6 concludes their final weeks of primary school, we pray that their time ends on a positive note with great memories. Mrs Dwyer and Mrs Fox have planned several exciting events and activities to celebrate this achievement including graduation mass and the Year 6 Fun Day. I encourage everyone to participate and make the most of these opportunities to connect, celebrate, and create lasting memories. I also encourage our leaders to reflect on their time here at St Bede’s.
This verse is a prophetic statement referring to a future Messiah who will come from the lineage of Jesse, the father of King David. The "shoot" symbolises a descendant or offspring, and the "Branch" represents the promised and righteous ruler who will bring forth blessings and fulfil God's plan. Christians interpret this verse as a foreshadowing of the coming of Jesus Christ, hence, a perfect message for Advent and to celebrate our Year 6 students.
As we enter the Advent season, let us embrace the spirit of hope, joy, love, and peace. The symbolism of the Advent wreath reminds us of the light that guides us through the darkness. In our daily lives, may we be mindful of the opportunities to spread kindness, show gratitude, and bring joy to others. Let us foster a sense of community and togetherness as we await the celebration of Christmas.
Regards
Andrew
Would you be interested in your child learning a second language at St Bede's in 2024? We are currently gauging interest in facilitating online lessons through an external provider for students to elect this extra-curricular subject. We are also seeking your preference of language, in addition to French which we will continue to teach across all year levels. If you have multiple children that you would consider enrolling, you can include them on the one form.

Today we mark a significant milestone in the era of the St Bede's Tuckshop. We farewell and thank Sarah Crewdson. Today is the final lunch order for 2023 and the final tuckshop for Sarah.
We thank Sarah for her dedication and enthusasm in running the tuckshop over the past few years. Sarah has invested an enormous amount of time in cooking and preparing food, ordering, cleaning, shopping, and so much more. She has done this to provide nutrious meals to our students (and staff). What an amazing achievement!
