BELONGING & CALMNESS
"Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it." Corinthians 12:27
As the term unfolds and Easter approaches, we find ourselves in the season of Lent, soon to enter the season of Easter. It's a time of renewal, growth, and, most importantly, a time for us to reflect on the values that bind us together as a school community.
Whilst showing a new family around our school, a parent described St Bede’s as having a sense of belonging and a sense of calm. As St Bede’s community members, you would agree that these qualities are integral aspects of our school. They form a part of the foundation upon which we foster an environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. This year we have been focusing on nurturing these qualities to create a harmonious and enriching educational experience for all. Every member of our school is responsible for creating our St Bede’s environment.
I am proud that new parents can easily identify these qualities. Belonging is the cornerstone of a vibrant school community. When students feel a sense of belonging, they are more likely to engage in learning, develop positive relationships, and contribute meaningfully to the school environment.
In today's fast-paced world, cultivating a sense of calmness is essential for promoting student wellbeing and academic success. By providing students with tools and strategies to manage stress and regulate emotions, we empower them to navigate life's challenges with resilience and grace.
May this scripture remind us that we are all valued members of God's family, each with a unique role to play. Let us embrace one another with love and acceptance, fostering a sense of belonging for all.
Regards
Andrew
St Bede's are in a very good position with our 2025 Kindergarten enrolment numbers. We have invested a significant effort in achieving our Kindergarten enrolment numbers as early as possible in the enrolment period. We need approximately another 12 students to achieve 2 classes for 2025.
Corflute is being erected for a 2 week period prior to Easter and we are moving to a 1:1 tour format for interested parents who are looking to enrol at St Bede's. This personalised approach allows parents to ask questions and to become comfortable with St Bede's outside of a group setting.
Thank you to our wonderful families for referring parents to consider St Bede's. The best recognition for any school or business is a personal recommendation. Please feel free to refer families in other grades as we still have a limited number of places available.
School photos will take place on Thursday 4 April and Friday 5 April. Students are asked to wear their summer uniform on these days. Photos of siblings need to be preordered and paid for online, you can also order a sibling photo by placing money in an envelope, listing the children's name and classes. All other orders can be ordered online.
There are a large number of products to select from on the online platform after the photographs have been taken. Taking on feedback from 2023, we have decided to move to a composite photograph. More information specific to photos will be shared in due course.
St Bede’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Update
On Tuesday evening our school’s RAP Team met to finalise our vision statement. A big thank you to Bianca Giteau, Ben Davies, Will Baldwin and Andrew Casey for their time dedicated to get our RAP ready for publication! We are now waiting final approval – it is very exciting.
We now have a RAP Action display in the foyer of the Front Office. On this wall you will find updates on our action plan, a calendar of planned events and significant days of recognition and general information regarding our RAP.
Once our RAP has been published, you will be able to find it on the Narragunnawali website: https://www.narragunnawali.org.au
