On Sunday 24 March the annual St Bede's Easter Egg Hunt was held at Lennox Gardens. This was an amazing opportunity to come together as a community for loads of fun. This was the biggest Easter hunt yet, with over 250 children.

A special thank you to Jenny Tiffen and her band of helpers for making this wonderful community event possible.

In 2023, the P&F was awarded a grant to provide a meeting space for our wonderful community. Thanks to Jen Maher, we received a $10,000 grant to kickstart this project.

The deck and seating adjacent to the hall was completed at the end of 2023. The pathway and garden at the front of the hall is coming to completion. The plants are in and the paving is well underway. This garden will include the gift of roses from the Year 6 class of 2023.

We would like to extend our thanks to Sean Kearns for the many hours that he has placed into this project. 

St Bede's staff members attended the 2024 Science of Learning Summit in Hobart this week. It was a wonderful opportunity to hear from world renowned speakers in relation to literacy, numeracy and the Science of Learning. The summit showcased innovative pedagogical approaches founded in the Science of Learning. Attendees interacted with prominent national and international education experts, who delved into the research supporting Science of Learning, offering best practice teaching methodologies through keynotes, workshops, panel discussions and Q&A sessions.

Winter sports are getting underway and there are a few opportunities for your children to try out for ACT teams or even try a new sport. 

Golf (18&U Boys & Girls Team, 12&U Boys & Girls Team)

School Sport Australia Championship: 18 to 23 August, Canberra.

Trial Information: Students who wish to be considered for selection must compete in the 12&U and 13&O Golf Championships to be held on Monday 6 May at Gungahlin Lakes Golf Club (entries for the event organised through School Sport Coordinators).

Note that the 12&U Golf Team will be selected from this event but notified later in the year.

Rugby League (12&U Mixed Team)

All trials held at Kaleen District Playing Field (Ground 1) - Fields 124 and 125. Wear a numbered jersey.

Snow Sports

Snow sports Championships will be held this year at Perisher Valley between 23-26 July.
