Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12
St Bede’s is a school where kindness shines. It is a virtue that lies at the heart of our Catholic faith and our great school. In a world that can often feel rushed and disconnected, the simple act of being kind can create profound changes in our school and community.
At St Bede’s, we strive to cultivate kindness in various ways. Our Walk in Love & Peace Awards often acknowledge students for being kind to others, whether it’s helping a classmate or volunteering in the community. These small gestures can create a ripple effect, inspiring others to do the same and transforming our school into a place of kindness.
Acts of kindness, no matter how small, can have a profound impact. A simple smile, a thoughtful gesture, or a word of encouragement can brighten someone’s day and inspire them to pay it forward. Research shows that kindness not only enhances the well-being of others but also boosts our own happiness and mental health. Engaging in kind acts releases endorphins, reducing stress and promoting a sense of belonging.
In a world that can often feel divided, kindness serves as a bridge that brings people together. It encourages understanding and empathy, fostering relationships that can withstand challenges. By promoting kindness in our homes, schools, and communities, we cultivate a culture of respect and positivity.
Kindness is not just an action; it’s a way of living out the teachings of Christ. In Colossians 3:12, we are reminded of some beautiful values. This scripture encourages us to embody these qualities, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and respected.
Ultimately, kindness is a choice we can make every day. It transforms our environment and reminds us that, regardless of our differences, we all have the capacity to uplift one another. Let’s commit to spreading kindness and making a difference in the lives of those around us.
Regards
Andrew
Today, we are excited to celebrate World Teachers' Day—a special occasion dedicated to honoring the incredible educators who inspire and guide our students every day. At St. Bede’s, we are blessed with a passionate and dedicated staff who go above and beyond to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
Our teachers not only impart knowledge but also instill values, encourage creativity, and foster a sense of belonging within our school community. Their commitment to each student’s growth is truly remarkable, and we are grateful for their hard work and dedication. With many teachers meeting the 6.15am bus for Boorowa, this is just one example of their commitment to our school and students.
On this special day, we encourage you to take a moment to express your appreciation for our teachers. A simple note of thanks, a kind word, or even sharing a favorite memory can mean the world to them.
Thank you for your continued support in making St. Bede’s a wonderful place to learn and grow!
