Principal's Message- They are ready!
THEY ARE READY!
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others” Philippians 2:3-4
As we approach the end of another school year, it is with great pride and a sense of gratitude that we celebrate the achievements of our Year 6 graduates. This special group of students has contributed significantly to our school community, leaving a lasting impact through their leadership, friendships, and positive role modelling.
Throughout their time at St Bede’s, our Year 6 students have exemplified what it means to be true leaders. They have shown remarkable maturity, responsibility, and integrity, stepping up to support their peers and younger students. Whether through being a buddy, helping organise school events, or leading by example in the classroom and playground, they have set a high standard for what it means to be a positive influence in the school community. For that we are very thankful.
Our Year 6 students are leaving us well prepared for the next chapter in their educational journey. Over the years, they have been equipped with a solid academic foundation, critical thinking skills, and a love of learning. Through challenging classroom experiences, projects, and opportunities for leadership, they have developed confidence in their abilities. Beyond academics, our school has nurtured their personal growth, helping them build resilience, emotional intelligence, and strong social skills. We are proud of how far they’ve come and confident that they are ready to tackle the challenges and opportunities that await them in high school.
One of the standout qualities of this Year 6 cohort has been their unwavering commitment to friendship. They have consistently demonstrated kindness, empathy, and a spirit of cooperation, making sure that no one feels left out or unsupported. This has been particularly evident during times of challenge, when they have shown resilience and solidarity, encouraging one another to persevere and succeed together. Their strong sense of community has been a source of inspiration for all of us.
The scripture passage above perfectly captures the essence of the Year 6 class. They have always put the needs of others first, whether it was supporting their classmates, helping teachers, or fostering an inclusive school environment. Their actions reflect the values of compassion and selflessness that we aim to nurture in all of our students.
As our Year 6 students prepare to take the next step in their educational journey, we know they are ready to face new challenges with confidence and grace. They leave our school not just as graduates, but as leaders, role models, and friends who have made a difference in the lives of those around them.
Congratulations to our Year 6 graduates! We wish you every success as you move on to high school and beyond, and we look forward to seeing all that you will achieve in the future.
Regards
Andrew
Year 6 Graduation Mass and Dinner
What a wonderful evening it was as we gathered to celebrate the Year 6 graduation of St. Bede's Primary School! The Graduation Mass, was a beautiful and meaningful occasion. It provided a special opportunity for our Year 6 students to reflect on their journey and give thanks for the friendships, growth, and guidance they have experienced throughout their time at St Bede’s. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Dwyer and Mr Baldwin for their dedication in organising the Mass, making it such a memorable and spiritual event for everyone involved.
Following the Mass, the Year 6 families were treated to a delightful dinner, organised by our incredible Parent Working Group. Their hard work and attention to detail ensured the evening was a great success, with delicious food, wonderful decorations, and a warm, celebratory atmosphere. We are deeply grateful for the time and effort that went into making this event so special for our graduates and their families.
Congratulations again to our Year 6 students – we are so proud of all you have achieved, and we wish you all the best in the next stage of your educational journey!
Thank you to everyone who made this occasion so memorable.
Life Ed. was on-site Monday to Wednesday this week delivering wellbeing education to K-6 students with their mascot, Healthy Harold.
Kindergarten explored ideas to help friendships grow, how to make friends and understand emotions. Year 1 learnt about the people and places that can help in an emergency and the emotions people might feel. Year 2 explored the importance of friendships and the qualities of good friends. Year 3B and Year 4 focused on understanding emotions and how they can be communicated. Year 3G learnt about their use of technology and the positives and challenges of being online. Year 5 and Year 6 focused on understanding what real friendship is, why it is important and how friendships change.
