The Community Council met last Tuesday and took the opportunity to reflect on 2024 and discuss the year ahead.
We were pleased to hear the new AV system is up and running in the school hall. It has proved to be a fantastic improvement to the school and a worthy fundraising project for the P&F to contribute to.
Andrew and Breen provided us with an update on the school’s plans for a new fence and gates to be installed at the top carpark and near the large oval which will enhance safety.
We also considered ideas for the P&F’s next major fundraising project. We agreed to explore options to upgrade to the top “mini-oval” which always turns in a bit of a dust bowl by the end of Term 2. Stay tuned for updates on P&F fundraising projects.
The Council would like to thank those who have put their hand up to help organise the Easter raffle and egg hunt and our major fundraising dinner which I am really excited for after the pause last year. The dinner will be a great opportunity to meet new parents and connect as a community without the chaos of our kids running around. I hope you’ll keep Saturday 17 May 2025 free and come along for some fun!

It is nearly that time of year again where we showcase our fabulous school for the enrolment period, marked by core flute signs all throughout the neighbourhood. We are seeking volunteers to post signs on nominated streets in our enrolment zone from Monday 17 March. If you are able to assist, please email breen.fox@cg.catholic.edu.au or catch Breen at school to volunteer. Go team! Signs will be ready for collection from Friday 14 March, after school.
Year 3 and Year 5 students will participate in NAPLAN over Weeks 6 and 7. We have made an alteration to the proposed schedule in order to provide adjustments and support to students. We wish our students well as they embrace the challenge!

We will be contacting parents of students in the incorrect uniform to bring in their summer uniform. We are aware that Naplan is scheduled for Year 3 & Year 5 students next week and please be assured that the Naplan schedule has been worked around the photo timetable.
Information regarding the ordering of photos is attached. Please take the time to read it. Family photos can be ordered in advance and individual and class photos can be ordered between Wednesday 26 March and Wednesday 9 April. Please note orders received after 9 April will be charged a late fee and will be delivered to the students home.
Uniform Changes - Tuesday 11 to Friday 14 March
Due to school photos and the Canberra Day public holiday, we will have some uniform changes in Week 6 (Tuesday 11 to Friday 14 March).
The changes are as follows:
Monday 10 March - Canberra Day Public Holiday
Tuesday 11 March - Sports Uniform for ALL STUDENTS
Wednesday 12 March - Full Summer Uniform for ALL STUDENTS (School photos)
Thursday 13 March - Full Summer Uniform for ALL STUDENTS (School photos)
Friday 14 March - Sports Uniform for ALL STUDENTS
Students are asked to leave all toys and valuables at home. We discourage the use of personal toys, including Beyblades, figurines, soft toys, fidgets, trading cards and electronics on the playground and in the classroom. Not only do toys cause issues around security and safety, they also create a big distraction in the classroom. Where possible, we try to offer lunch clubs where some of these options might be available for a short period, supervised by teachers. What happens at lunch clubs, stays at lunch clubs!
St Bede's Dinner - Save the Date!
The P&F Working Group are busily preparing for our community dinner on Saturday 17 May. This will be an opportunity to share a meal and gather as a community. More details will follow shortly. For now, mark it in your diaries.
