Today we celebrate World Teachers’ Day. This is a special opportunity to pause and acknowledge the incredible work our teachers do every single day at St Bede’s. Teaching is much more than delivering lessons. At St Bede's our teachers prioritise building relationships, nurturing confidence, and guiding our students to discover their gifts and potential.
Our teachers consistently go above and beyond, whether it’s planning engaging lessons, assisting a student who needs extra support, coaching teams at sports carnivals, or creating meaningful moments of prayer and reflection in our classrooms. Their commitment to our students’ growth is truly something to celebrate.
A sincere thank you to our parents who helped make today so special. The delicious morning tea, thoughtful cards, flowers, and kind words of appreciation meant so much to our staff. These gestures remind us that we are part of a caring and united community where partnership between home and school is at the heart of everything we do.
We are truly blessed to be part of such a wonderful school community.
Bald for Baldwin- Crazy Hair Day 7 November
A reminder that next Friday, 7th November, we’ll be holding a Crazy Hair Day to support Mr Baldwin as he undergoes treatment for Lymphoma. In true St Bede’s spirit, our community is coming together to show our care and encouragement during this time.
Students are invited to come to school with their craziest hairstyles and make a small donation towards our GoFundMe fundraiser for Mr Baldwin. Several brave teachers have volunteered to have their heads shaved or dyed, and some lucky students will even get to help! Please note that this is not a uniform-free day and students will also be required to wear a hat at recess and lunch.
Parents are invited to attend the event commencing at 2.30pm in the assembly area. You are also invited to bring some afternoon tea/picnic to share with your children after school while sitting back and enjoying some music and the St Bede's Community Spirit.
We’re looking forward to a fun day filled with colour, laughter, and community spirit .
Donations can be made through the GoFundMe link or QR code below.
Thank you for your generosity and kindness.
Faith Formation at St Bede’s
This week we have begun our Faith Formation for Infants, starting with Kindergarten. The theme of the retreat is ‘Pilgrims of Hope - Walk in Love and Peace’.Kinder explored what the word pilgrim means and how our faith journey is one that we are always on. The highlight of the session was definitely the Pilgrim Walk, led by Year 5. We journeyed around the school and focused on the the following themes:
- Starting the Journey - ‘We are all Pilgrims on a Journey’ (Psalm 84)
- Walking Together - ‘Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there with them’ Matthew 18:20
- Helping Other on the Way - ‘Love one another as I have loved you’ John 13:34
- Finding Peace - ‘Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you’ John 14:27
- Sharing Hope - ‘Let your light shine before others’ Matthew 5:16
Kindergarten have now created footprints to begin the Pilgrims of Hope - Walk in Love and Peace footpath. This footpath has wonderful images, words and colours to help us all ‘Walk in Love and Peace’ as a community. Come and check out the felt boards near the Canteen!
Year 1 and Year 2 will be adding to this footpath in the coming weeks!
Sending everyone in our community much love and peace,
Haley Stonham
Religious Education Coordinator
On Friday 7 and 14 November, the Uniform Shop will be open exclusively for the parents of Kindergarten 2026. As this is a large cohort and we are expecting many new parents will take up this offer, we are asking parents of current students to order through Qkr! and not come to the shop on either day. Your order will be delivered to your child after the volunteers have packed it.
Many thanks for your assistance and cooperation.
Teacher placements for 2026 will be announced shortly. The window to discuss considerations for 2026 is now closed. Our staff are currently finalising class lists to ensure a balanced and supportive start to the new year. These lists will be finalised with no further movement.
Students will find out their 2026 teacher and class during our Step Up Afternoon on Monday 15 December, where they’ll spend time with their new teacher and classmates. It’s always an exciting day meeting new staff to the school. Children who are joinging St Bede's in 2026 are also invited to take part.
Reminder: Complete the P&F Survey
On behalf of the Parents and Friends Association, we invite you to take 2 minutes to complete a short survey to help prioritise proposed projects. Your feedback is invaluable in guiding where our efforts and fundraising should be focused.
Please rank the suggested projects and or make another suggestion by Monday COB 3 November 2025. Your input will ensure that the P&F supports initiatives that matter most to our school community.
