Parent Teacher Conferences will take place from Monday 4 March to Thursday 7 March. You are invited to book a session time to meet with your child's teacher via Compass. This will be live until Sunday 3 March.
This meeting is to discuss your child in more detail and how they have settled into the new academic year. It is a terrific opportunity to have home and school connect to discuss your child's learning.
St Bede’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Update
In Week 2 this term, we launched the beginning of a renewal at St Bede’s. We celebrated the launch of our RAP with a community gathering and smoking ceremony.
The actions fall under three broad headings: Relationships, Respect and Opportunities. Our key priority for 2024 is to build knowledge and understanding of what reconciliation means for all of us AS a St Bede’s community. We aim to do this by:
- Engaging with and establishing partnerships with Ngunnawal Elders.
- Create opportunities for students, their families and teachers to learn about being culturally responsive.
- Enliven our RAP actions so that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and perspectives are respected and visible within our school community.
- Create opportunities for students to connect to their culture in authentic and meaningful ways.
This is a very exciting time for St Bede’s. Thank you for your support with our commitment to being a more inclusive school community.

As previously advised, St Bede's trialled a new assembly arrangement for 2024 which included moving the time of the Monday to Thursday morning assembly to the afternoon. After undertaking a review and receiving feedback from students and teachers, further modifications to the assembly structure will now take place.
St Bede's values the connection that we have within our wonderful community. As such, our school will now gather on Monday and Friday mornings for an assembly. This will be an opportunity to start the week together and end the week together. Please be advised that there will not be an assembly on any other day.
The morning assembly will be an opportunity to:
- come together in prayer;
- receive messages;
- celebrate birthdays;
- acknowledge achievement or other events/activities (sport, SRC, academic, other);
- receive Walk in Love and Peace Awards (Friday only);
- acknowledge country and sing the National Anthem (Friday only).
We remain open for parents to attend these morning gatherings.
Congratulations to all students who took part in the Summer Reading Challenge. It was terrific to see so many people reading. Please return your child's Summer Reading Challenge Checklist before the end of next week (Friday 8 March). We will make announcements of the winners during the week commencing Monday 11 March.
Please note that these dates are different to those originally advertised.
School fees for Term 1 have now been distributed via email. You can also view your balance in Compass. On behalf of Catholic Education we apologise for the lengthy delay and any inconvenience caused.
As previously advised, a new process for distributing fees has been implemented. Although, distributing fees is no longer the responsibility of St Bede's or Mrs Luhrs, your can still contact the office with any questions or issues.
